Speedy deletion nomination of User:DylanB4/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:DylanB4/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. February 2017
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Your recent talk page comments on User talk:RHaworth were not added to the bottom of the page. New discussion page messages and topics should always be added to the bottom. Your message may have been moved. In the future you can use the "New section" link in the top right. For more details see the talk page guidelines. Thank you. O Fortuna!...Imperatrix mundi. 09:35, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. O Fortuna!...Imperatrix mundi. 09:36, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- Dear DylanB4, unfortunately your sandbox was considered to be unambiguous advertising which would have taken a fundamental rewrite to repair. It was therefore deleted as you know, by an administrator (Not by me). Please note that Wikipedia is not a business listing service or directory and that repeated efforts towards promoting things here can lead to a restriction being placed on your ability to edit. Sorry if this sounds negative: but it's better you are fully aware of the implications. Cheers, O Fortuna!...Imperatrix mundi. 09:46, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi:Thank you for the alert. I will be re-starting on the page with the most basic of information. Hopefully this will clear the guidelines. I realize wikipedia is not a directory listing service, I'm just trying to create a page with facts about the company as an information resource. - DylanB4
- Please read general notability guidelines. Your current draft has no evidence of any notability and will fail again unless the issue of notability is addressed. For the record, the content also remains unambiguously promotional especially in the list of products. The references also are all to affiliated sites. I am very doubtful whether the subject is notable, but it would need much improvement to get there if it is possible. Velella Velella Talk 23:26, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Velella: I will update to include more references to non affiliated sites. Specifically addressing the products list, it simply shows what the company specialises in. But I will take that out if it seems too "promotional".

File permission problem with File:Guild Insurance Limited Logo 2016.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Guild Insurance Limited Logo 2016.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ramaksoud2000Bot (talk) 08:08, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
